2016 Film Independent Spirit Awards Filmmaker Grant Nominees Announced

The filmmaker grant nominees have been named for the 2016 Film Independent Awards. The annual event will be held on Saturday, Feb. 27 in Santa Monica and winners will be highlighted at the Santa Monica annual event.

The Producers Award, now in its 19th year, honors emerging producers who, despite highly limited resources demonstrate the creativity, tenacity and vision required to produce quality, independent films. The award includes a $25,000 unrestricted grant funded by Piaget.

TRUER THAN FICTION AWARD The Truer Than Fiction Award, now in its 21th year, is presented to an emerging director of non-fiction features who has not yet received significant recognition. The award includes a $25,000 unrestricted grant.

KIEHL’S SOMEONE TO WATCH AWARD The Someone to Watch Award, now in its 22st year, recognizes a talented filmmaker of singular vision who has not yet received appropriate recognition.

Uzo Aduba, Queen Latifah Among Nominees for 22nd ANNUAL SAG AWARDS

Nominations were announced today for the 22nd Annual Screen Actor’s Guild Awards for outstanding individual, cast and ensemble performances in film and television of 2015, as well as the nominees for outstanding action performances by film and television stunt ensembles. The nominations were held this morning at the Pacific Design Center’s SilverScreen Theater in West Hollywood.

SAG-AFTRA Executive Vice President Gabrielle Carteris introduced Anna Faris (Mom, The House Bunny) and Anthony Mackie (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Hurt Locker), who announced the nominees for this year’s Actors® live on TNT, TBS, truTV, and Prior to that, SAG Awards Committee Chair JoBeth Williams and Committee Member Jason George announced the stunt ensemble nominees during a live webcast on

Uzo Aduba was nominated for Best Female Actor in a Comedy for her role as “Crazy Eyes” in Netflix’s ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK and Edie Falco for her lead role in Showtime’s NURSE JACKIE. Aduba also got a nod in the category of Best Ensemble cast for ‘ORANGE’, alongside THE COLOR PURPLE’s Danielle Brooks.

Female nominees for the same category included Cate Blanchett for CAROL and Helen Mirren for WOMAN IN GOLD. Mark Rylance received a nod for BRIDGE OF SPIES for the category of Male Supporting Actor.

THE WIZ LIVE’s Queen Latifah received a nod for her starring role in HBO’s BESSIE in the category of Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor for a TV Movie or Miniseries. She will compete against Susan Sarandon (Lifetime’s THE SECRET LIFE OF MARILY MONROE) among others.

American Music Awards Highlights 26-Year-Olds Inspirational Success Story

The 43rd annual American Music Awards will air live on Sunday November 22, 2015. Hosted by Jennifer Lopez, the AMAs highlight the latest, and greatest in the music industry. Watched by hundreds of millions of viewers, the American Music Awards is one of the top watched award shows, pulling in viewers from all around the world.

As well as highlighting the inspirational leaders in the industry, the award show also spotlights other stories of success, over coming obstacles and achieving the impossible. Highlighted in this year’s AMAs is the story of 26-year-old Ryan Zamo’s international success, after taking his hand made organic skincare ‘Z Skin Cosmetics’ and became a globally selling brand in under a year, according to Z Skin Cosmetics.

Recently featured in major magazines, the 26-year-old has been skyrocketing with success. Corinne Foxx named Miss Golden Globe 2016 | PopSource TV News

Corinne Foxx, daughter of Jaime Foxx, has been named Miss Golden Globe 2016.

Foxx is the daughter of Oscar-Winning actor Jamie Foxx and is a student at the University of Southern California. She is also an actress and model. The student will be passing out trophies onstage during the 73rd Golden Globe Awards ceremony.

Typically the Hollywood Foreign Press Association honors an individual within the entertainment community and he or she is usually the off spring of a celebrity. The Proud dad posted a sentimental message to his Twitter: “soo proud of my little one for being chosen as Miss Golden Globes. @corinnefoxx can’t wait to see you on the stage!,” the Oscar Winner shared.

Will Smith and Jane Fonda to be Honored at the “19th Annual Hollywood Film Awards®”

Dick clark productions announced today that two-time Academy Award-nominated actor Will Smith will be honored with the “Hollywood Actor Award” for his performance in Concussion, and Academy Award-winning actress Jane Fonda will receive the “Hollywood Supporting Actress Award” for her role in Paolo Sorrentino’s Youth.

The “19th Annual Hollywood Film Awards” will be hosted by critically and globally acclaimed actor, comedian and late night talk show host, James Corden.

The Hollywood Film Awards, the official launch of the awards season®, has recognized excellence in the art of cinema and filmmaking for 18 years, honoring some of the world’s biggest stars.  More than one hundred honorees have gone on to garner Oscar nominations and wins.

People’s Choice Awards to be handed out January 6th in Los Angeles

The People’s Choice Awards are set for January 6th in Los Angeles. The awards show is the only major awards show where fans choose the nominees and winners across multiple genres of movies, music and television. Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) will distribute the show internationally.

Voting to determine the nominees begins Tuesday, October 13, 2015 (10:00 AM, ET) at through Thursday, October 22, 2015 (11:59 PM, ET). The nominations announcement press conference, to be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills, will reveal the final nominees in all categories and launch the second phase of voting on the website and social platforms.

On Sunday, February 15th, 2015, LATF (LA TV FILM) hosted the very first annual Hollywood Beauty Awards, honoring the real heroes of the red carpet and benefiting Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

K-EARTH 101’s radio star Lisa Stanley emceed the beautiful black-tie event at the legendary Fonda Theatre in Hollywood. The HBAs bring long overdue recognition, appreciation and applause to the creative artisans, craftsman and miracle workers who, not only create, sculpt and hone a star’s public persona, but infuse their every red carpet appearance, photo-shoot and even the quickest paparazzi shot, with a little bit of that special Hollywood glamour. Celebrity Makeup Artists, Hairstylists, Photographers, etc. From the studio to the red carpet and back again, they are the artists who paint the town beautiful and make Hollywood one of the most talked about cities in the world.

Oscar winning actress, Jane Fonda presented an Outstanding Achievement Award for Makeup to Bernadine M. Anderson, the first African-American woman to break into the Local 706. Ms. Fonda and Ms. Anderson reunited decades later, after working together for eight years on award-winning films. The distinguished, Sir Patrick Stewart (“Star Trek,” “X-Men”) gave a heart-felt speech, honoring Hollywood makeup royalty, Michael Westmore. Mr. Westmore worked on “Star Trek” for its entire 18 year run. In one of the most touching moments of the night, the vibrant Jenifer Lewis (“Black-ish,” “Think Like A Man Too”) impromptu sang “His Eye On The Sparrow” to Hairstyling honoree, Julia L. Walker, with whom she worked on films such as, “Sister Act” and “The Temptations.” Actress, Bai Ling presented Martin Samuel (“Pirates of the Caribbean,” “Evita”) with the Outstanding Achievement in Hairstyling Award, whom she worked with on “Wild Wild West.” One of the most famous celebrity photographers, Harry Langdon, who’s shot countless superstars, was presented with the Outstanding Achievement In Photography Award by Golden Globe nominated actress, Morgan Fairchild (“Flamingo Road,” “Friends”).

Hit recording-artist, Tommy Roe (“Dizzy,” “Sheila”) presented The Timeless Beauty Award to Barbara Eden (“I Dream of Jeanie,” “Harper Valley PTA”). Greg Finley (“The Flash”), Graham Patrick Martin (“TNT’s Major Crimes”) presented The New Beauty Award to Meagan Tandy (MTV’s “Teen Wolf”), Virginia Gardner (“Project Almanac”), Constance Wu (ABC’s “Fresh Off The Boat”)

Dayna Devon (“Extra), Nia Peeples (“Pretty Little Liars,” “The Young And The Restless”) and Carla Gonzalez (Miss United Nation International) announced the winners in each competing category.
