Bobbi Kristina Brown’s Nurse Charged With Practicing Without A License

Published by:

Bobbi Kristina Brown’s Nurse Charged With Practicing Without A License

Bobbi Kristina Brown’s nurse has been charged after it was discovered that she has been practicing without a valid license.

Taiwo Sobamowo had been accused of posing as a medical professional in the hospice that Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown’s daughter was being cared for before she tragically passed away in July last year.

Gwinnett County jail records have confirmed that Taiwo has now been charged for the offense, with previous reports claiming that she faked credentials in order to get the job – providing documents that said that she was a registered nurse.

Taiwo was fired on August 5th after the facility discovered that she could not prove the credentials.

Bobbi Kristina was just 22 years old when she died, with the aspiring singer being found unconscious in her bathtub at home in Atlanta last January.

After six months in a coma, Bobbi passed away, with there being many reports surrounding what led to the starlet’s death, which was eerily reminiscent of her mother Whitney’s passing in 2007.

Bobbi Kristina’s father has since vowed to open a women’s hospice in his daughter’s memory, vowing that it is going to be named ‘Bobbi Kristina Serenity House’ and will serve as an emergency and advocacy resource centre for women who are experiencing domestic abuse.

Speaking about the project on an episode of ‘The Real’, Bobby explained: “It’s a place that I’m building, that we’re just starting to built, that I feel is needed.

Boost Oxygen Makes American Idol Debut

Published by:

american-idol-logo

Boost Oxygen, the nation’s leading supplemental and recreational oxygen product, has received nation-wide exposure on Fox Network’s show American Idol. On Tuesday night, January 12th, American Idol was broadcasted from Denver, Colorado, during which Ryan Seacrest came out with a tray of large Boost Oxygen canisters to deliver to Harry Connick Jr., Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban to recharge them from the fatigue they felt from the altitude of the Mile High City.

The introduction of Boost Oxygen can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yqr4YOTL–k

The segment was very light and good-natured, and it was a great reaffirmation of Boost Oxygen LLC’s core mission — to make supplemental oxygen convenient and available to the general public for a multitude of uses.

One of Boost Oxygen’s top markets is Colorado, where altitude sickness often affects travelers to higher altitudes, which was the primary reason Mr. Seacrest brought them out. The usefulness of supplemental oxygen doesn’t end there — many professional singers have used supplemental oxygen during their performances to recharge between sets. Singers, from Country to Rock to Opera to Rap, can expel more CO2 during their performances than the oxygen that they take in from the air. They can become oxygen deficient, fatigued, even dizzy- which can be sign of lack of oxygenated blood to the brain.

To replenish their Oxygen levels fast for aerobic recovery and best performance — just like pro football players — they can inhale supplemental oxygen. Mick Jagger and David Lee Roth were reportedly renowned for this, and Boost Oxygen is there for major musical acts who enjoy the convenience, portability and ready-access that our cans provide to Oxygen.

“So we’d like to thank Mr. Seacrest and American Idol for using and sharing our product during American Idol — it’s a great showcase for one of the many uses of our product, Boost Oxygen,” says Rob Neuner, President of Boost Oxygen.

Boost Oxygen was founded in 2007, and is a Connecticut-based privately held company. The company was created to fill a need that has been underserved: bringing the benefits of supplemental and recreational oxygen to those who can benefit from its use. Athletes use supplemental oxygen to improve their performance and reduce recovery time. Other uses are to counter altitude sickness, as an aid to improve focus and mental acuity, as a hangover remedy, and many others. Boost Oxygen currently distributes across the US and is available in Canada, Mexico, Europe, Korea and China.

Snoop Dogg headlines CALIBASH 2016 at Staples Center in Los Angeles

Published by:

The leading Latin Urban music concert in Los Angeles also features performances by J Balvin, Prince Royce, Nicky Jam, Plan B, Yandel, Farruko, Becky G, J Alvarez, Lil Jon, J Quiles, Zion & Lennox and Alex Sensation.

Spanish Broadcasting System, Inc. (SBS) (NASDAQ: SBSA), the favorite station of millennial Latinos in Los Angeles, MEGA 96.3FM announced the Calibash 2016 full line-up headlined by Snoop Dogg and featuring performances by J Balvin, Prince Royce, Nicky Jam, Plan B, Yandel, Farruko, Becky G, J Alvarez, Lil Jon, J Quiles, Zion & Lennox, Alex Sensation and Henry Santos.

With more than 135,000 tickets sold since its inception, Calibash has become the leading Latin urban music concert in Los Angeles and will feature in its 2016 edition a performance by world renowned music icon Snoop Dogg. Hailing from Los Angeles, just like Calibash, Snoop Dogg conquered the music world and transformed rap and hip-hop music with his signature sounds and stage presence.

Nicknamed Snoop by his mother because of his appearance, Calvin Broadus (born October 20, 1972) was raised in Long Beach, California. Snoop began recording homemade tapes with his friend Warren G, who happened to be the stepbrother of N.W.A.’s Dr. Dre. Warren G gave a tape to Dre, who was considerably impressed with Snoop’s style and began collaborating with the rapper. When Dre decided to make his tentative first stab at a solo career in 1992 with the theme song for the film Deep Cover, he had Snoop rap with him. “Deep Cover” started a buzz about Snoop that escalated into full-fledged mania when Dre released his own debut album, The Chronic, on Death Row Records late in 1992. Snoop rapped on The Chronic as much as Dre, and his drawled vocals were as important to the record’s success as its P-Funk bassgrooves. Dre’s singles “Nuthin’ But a ‘G’ Thang” and “Dre Day,” which prominently featured Snoop, became Top Ten pop crossover hits in the spring of 1993, setting the stage for Snoop’s much-anticipated debut album, Doggystyle. In 2016, the intentionally leaked “My Peoples” freestyle appeared. The track paid tribute to many involved in Cali’s Latin rap community, so it was no big surprise when “Vato” with Cypress Hill’s B Real became his next album’s leadoff single. The hard and very G-funk Tha Blue Carpet Treatment triumphantly capped off a year of heavy West Coast activity. In late 2007, he recruited two hip-hop veterans — new jack swing legend Teddy Riley and West Coast hero DJ Quik — and formed the production team QDT Muzic. The team oversaw Snoop’s 2008 album, Ego Trippin’, which included the single “Sensual Seduction.” In 2009, he issued Malice N Wonderland, the maiden release of a new alliance with the reactivated Priority label, which also signed him on as its creative chairman. He promoted the album a couple months prior to its street date when he hosted the live wrestling television broadcast WWE Raw. A year later the CD/DVD set More Malice rounded up some odds and ends from the album and packaged them with a DVD featuring the Malice N Wonderland short film. In 2011, he released Doggumentary, an album he considered the sequel to his classic debut. The album featured production from the likes of Swizz Beats, DJ Khalil, and Scott Storch, while guest artists included Kanye West, John Legend, Wiz Khalifa, and Willie Nelson. Also arriving that same year was a feature film with Khalifa, Mac and Devin Go to High School, along with its accompanying soundtrack. After a 2012 trip to Jamaica, Snoop Dogg returned as Snoop Lion, and with the help of producer Diplo, he released his first all-reggae album, Reincarnated, on RCA in 2013. Another name change came later in the year when he became Snoopzilla and joined modern funkster Dâm-Funk for the project/album 7 Days of Funk. A return to Snoop Dogg came in 2015 when he partnered with Pharrell Williams for the hip-hop effort Bush. The album was introduced by the single “Peaches N Cream” and featured guest appearances from Stevie Wonder, Justin Timberlake, Robin Thicke, and Charlie Wilson (Source Billboard.com).

Colombian singer J Balvin is one of the hottest Reggaeton artists today. Multi-award winning Prince Royce is one of the leading Bachata singers that is enjoying crossover success with his latest English language production. Nicky Jam is one of the most beloved Reggaeton artists with an impressive stage presence, he conquered the world with “El Perdon;” topping the charts all over Latin America. Reggaeton’s leading duo Plan B that has taken the genre to the most important venues in Latin America with sold-out concerts. Puertorican Reggaeton musician, songwriter and record producer Yandel continued strong success after emerging from the iconic duo Wisin y Yandel. Farruko continues to redefine the genre with his lyrics, productions and collaborations. Becky G is LA’s own hottest new artists that is taking the music world by a storm. J Alvarez is one of the iconic names of Reggaeton with dozens of musical hits. American hip hop recording artist, record producer, entrepreneur, DJ and actor Lil Jon jon will perform at Calibash for the first time. J Quiles is one of Reggaeton’s hottest newcomers. Zion & Lennox are one of the genre’s most successful duos. Alex Sensation is the most influential radio DJ turned performer in the US today.

BLACK ENTERPRISE hosts its 11th annual Black Enterprise Women of Power Summit on Wednesday, March 9th to Saturday, March 12th at The Diplomat Resort & Spa Hollywood, Curio Collection by Hilton in Hollywood, Florida. The Summit, hosted by ADP, is the leading executive development conference for women of color and annually welcomes more than 1,000 mid- to senior-level power players and C-suite executives from across the country.

Vanessa L. Williams joins the 2016 speaker lineup along with her mother Helen Williams to discuss the costs and sacrifices that come with success in their session “You Have No Idea!” On Thursday, March 10th, the singer, actress, and author will be among the recipients of the esteemed Women of Power Legacy Award. Also honored will be legendary golf pioneer Renee Powell, and N. Joyce Payne, Ph.D., founder of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund who will receive the Barbara Graves Legacy Award.

Now in its 11th year, the Women of Power Summit features influential speakers and one-on-one keynote sessions with top executives—many of whom are women of color themselves. In addition, the Summit offers more than 20 hours of lifestyle, leadership, and professional development workshops with countless opportunities to network with like-minded peers. Attendees will be empowered, inspired, and equipped with the necessary tools to implement a strategy for success beginning the moment the conference concludes.

“When we first launched the Women of Power Summit, the field for this sort of event was wide open. The women who attended weren’t sure what to expect, but they walked away thrilled. Eleven years later, the women’s empowerment space is very competitive but there is still nothing like this, which speaks right to the hearts of business women of color. Every year, the Summit offers plenty that’s new: speakers, sponsors, topics that tap into emerging issues, and the unique challenges we face,” says Editorial Director of the Women of Power Summit, Caroline V. Clarke, who is confident in the Summit’s ability to consistently tackle these issues and challenges. In fact, the Women of Power Summit’s year-over-year success led to the launch of Women of Power TV for which Clarke serves as host. “What never changes is our commitment to this audience’s success and their need for greater connection with each other. This event is relevant, resonant, and unparalleled, and we are so excited about this year.”

Also named among the ranks of this year’s Women of Power Summit speakers is Carnival Corp. President and CEO Arnold Donald. No stranger to the executive suite, Donald will be interviewed by BLACK ENTERPRISE President and CEO, Earl “Butch” Graves Jr. Their discussion on playmaking in the power suite will engage and inspire Women of Power attendees and is sure to assist them in developing their own actionable plan to carve out their path to the corner office.

The host sponsor of the 2016 Women of Power Summit is ADP. Presenting sponsors include Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Chevrolet, EMC, Macy’s, PepsiCo, State Farm, and Walmart. Michael Jackson’s Original Album And The Documentary “Michael Jackson’s Journey From Motown To Off The Wall” Set For Release As A CD/DVD

Published by:

On February 26, during Black History Month, the Estate of Michael Jackson and Sony Legacy Recordings will release exclusive CD/DVD and CD/Blu Ray editions of Michael Jackson’s revolutionary 1979 recording, Off The Wall. The package will include the original version of the album   bundled with the new documentary Michael Jackson’s Journey from Motown to Off the Wall, directed by Spike Lee.  The documentary will make its world premiere at Sundance Film Festival on January 24, 2016, and its world television premiere on SHOWTIME on Friday, February 5th at 9 P.M. ET/PT on-air, on demand and over the internet.  After its premiere on SHOWTIME, it will be broadcast in territories around the world.

THE ALBUM – The importance of Michael Jackson’s Off the Wall cannot be overstated.  Recorded when he was just 20 years old, the album heralded Michael’s stunning emancipation as a singular musical force and creative visionary.  It smashed the ceiling on record sales for black artists, ushering in an exciting  new era of R&B-to-pop crossover airplay, chart, marketing and sales  trends not seen before in modern pop music.   It’s the record that “invented modern pop as we know it,” wrote Rolling Stone.  For fellow black artists of the day, Michael served as an illuminating inspiration.

To Black America, Off The Wall transcended music and entertainment altogether. The success of the album marked a level  of  national and international achievement  that conjured  pride  in a culture that as late as the end of the 1970s was still fighting for the kind of social acceptance that Michael’s album received.   Because of Off the Wall’s indelible influence, 21st century artists as disparate as Beyonce, Pharrell, Kendrick Lamar and The Weeknd all have a blueprint they turned to for creating their superstardom.

Written by Michael Jackson, the first single from Off The Wall, “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough”, was Michael’s first Grammy and first single to hit #1 in the U.S. and internationally as a solo artist.  With the singles “Rock With You”, “Off the Wall” and “She’s Out of My Life” Jackson became the first solo artist in history to have four singles from the same album peak inside the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. The album was an enormous commercial success; as of 2014 it is certified eight times platinum in the United States and has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling albums of all time.

The Music:  “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough”; “Rock With You”, “Workin’ Day and Night”; “Get on the Floor”; “Off the Wall”; “Girlfriend”; “She’s Out of My Life“;  “I Can’t Help It”; ” It’s the Falling in Love”; “Burn This Disco Out”.

THE DOCUMENTARY –   Produced by Spike Lee, John Branca and John McClain.  For Michael Jackson’s Journey from Motown to Off the Wall, director Spike Lee assembles a wealth of archival footage, including material from Michael’s personal archive, interviews with contemporary talents and family members, and Michael’s own words and image to create this insightful chronicle from the star’s early rise to fame through the release of this seminal album. A look at a chapter of his career that is rarely examined, Michael Jackson’s Journey from Motown to Off the Wall allows audiences to travel with Michael as he gets his start at Motown, strikes a new path with CBS Records, and forges a relationship with legendary producer Quincy Jones. An illuminated portrait emerges of how an earnest, passionate, hard-working boy would become the “King of Pop.”

Partial list of interviews:  Lee Daniels; The Weeknd; Pharrell Williams; Misty Copeland, Kobe Bryant; Mark Ronson;  John Legend;  Questlove;  Katherine Jackson; Joe Jackson, Marlon Jackson, Jackie Jackie  L.A. Reid and more.
