LOS ANGELES – LL Cool J has added yet another huge accolade to his extended list of accomplishments: a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
James Todd Smith, known by his stage name LL Cool J – which means Ladies Love Cool J [James] accepted the star Thursday among his closet friends and family. The recording artist, actor, author, and philanthropist, who is set to return as host for the upcoming 58th Grammy awards was in very good spirits before-and-after he was honored with the star.
The two-time Grammy Award winner is one of the few entertainers who can count being equally successful in music as well as television. LL was the first rap artist to amass 10 consecutive platinum-plus selling albums. He has also been a stand-out on the successful CBS drama NCIS:Los Angeles, and has landed leading roles in several films including Any Given Sunday and Kingdom Come, which also starred Vivica A. Fox and Jada Pinkett Smith.
LL received his star on Hollywood Boulevard in front of the historic Hard Rock. His family and friends were there to provide good wishes to the Grammy Awards host, musician, and actor. LL Cool J has been married to wife Simone since 1995. They have four children together.
The 48-year-old rapper/actor has received three NAACP Image awards, a soul train award – “The Quincy Jones Award” for Outstanding Career Achievements and is the recipient of the Harvard Foundation’s most prestigious medal, Harvard University’s “Artist of the Year.”
