Jason of Beverly Hills unveils Golden State Warriors Championship Ring

The NBA Champion Golden State Warriors received their 2014-15 NBA Championship rings during a special pre-game ceremony last night, October 27th.

There is no question who won the 2015 NBA Championship, with the main focus of the Championship ring being the Golden State Warriors logo. The circular top is a nod to the shape of the Warriors jersey logo as well as the shape of a basketball. Jason of Beverly Hills was even able to get Oracle Arena’s silhouette into the design, as well as a gold image on the side of the ring of the team holding up the Championship trophy.

While some of the meanings are obvious, there are a few hidden stories. 240 stones stands for the 240 regular season wins and playoff wins under the current ownership. The ring is 14kt gold except for the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge and players’ numbers that are made of a special batch of yellow gold with 67% purity to represent the 67 win-season. There are 16 princesses cut stones on the side of the ring to represent the number of 2015 playoff wins that led to the Larry O’Brien NBA Championship Trophy coming back to the Bay. What you cannot see are 4 single stones that are only visible under special black light, because they were made fluorescent to signify the four championships in Warriors franchise history (2015, 1975, 1956, 1947).

The total carat weight of the player’s rings is over 6 carats of diamonds and blue sapphires. This is a limited edition ring that can’t be copied.

Dick clark productions announced today that two-time Academy Award-nominated actor Will Smith will be honored with the “Hollywood Actor Award” for his performance in Concussion, and Academy Award-winning actress Jane Fonda will receive the “Hollywood Supporting Actress Award” for her role in Paolo Sorrentino’s Youth.

The “19th Annual Hollywood Film Awards” will be hosted by critically and globally acclaimed actor, comedian and late night talk show host, James Corden.

The Hollywood Film Awards, the official launch of the awards season®, has recognized excellence in the art of cinema and filmmaking for 18 years, honoring some of the world’s biggest stars.  More than one hundred honorees have gone on to garner Oscar nominations and wins.

People’s Choice Awards to be handed out January 6th in Los Angeles

The People’s Choice Awards are set for January 6th in Los Angeles. The awards show is the only major awards show where fans choose the nominees and winners across multiple genres of movies, music and television. Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) will distribute the show internationally.

Voting to determine the nominees begins Tuesday, October 13, 2015 (10:00 AM, ET) at www.PeoplesChoice.com through Thursday, October 22, 2015 (11:59 PM, ET). The nominations announcement press conference, to be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills, will reveal the final nominees in all categories and launch the second phase of voting on the website and social platforms.

Malcolm-Jamal Warner Breaks His Silence on Bill Cosby Allegations

Malcolm-Jamal Warner is finally breaking his silence about the Cosby allegations.

“The Cosby Show” alum Malcolm-Jamal Warner says the series’ legacy is “tarnished” by the sexual assault allegations made against Bill Cosby, according to the Associated Press. Warner said he has been in touch with Cosby, but he would not comment on their conversations. “I think the things that we discussed really have to stay private between us. But it’s just a bad situation all around — for him, for his family, the women, their families, the legacy of the show,” said Warner during an interview Thursday.

“My biggest concern is when it comes to images of people of color on television and film, no matter what … negative stereotypes of people of color, we’ve always had ‘The Cosby Show’ to hold up against that. And the fact that we no longer have that, that’s the thing that saddens me the most because in a few generations the Huxtables will have been just a fairy tale,” said Warner, who starred as Cosby’s son, Theo Huxtable, on the long-running NBC sitcom.

“I grew up with a maniacal obsession with not wanting to be one of those ‘Where Are They Now Kids,’ ” said Warner of his busy year. “I feel very blessed to be able to have all of these avenues of expression … to be where I am now and finally at a place where I can let go of that worry about having a life after ‘Cosby.’ ”

Warner, who won his first Grammy earlier this year for his work on Robert Glasper’s “Jesus Children,” is currently promoting his new album, “Selfless.” He describes the third record with his band Miles Long as “funky passionate vulnerability.”

Time Inc.’s Sports Illustrated Pays Tribute To Muhammad Ali

Last night, Sports Illustrated, a Time Inc. (NYSE: TIME) brand, dedicated its Sportsman of the Year Award to Muhammad Ali, renaming it the Sports Illustrated Muhammad Ali Legacy Award. The dedication ceremony took place in Louisville, KY on October 1 at the Muhammad Ali Center in front of a crowd of 300 VIPS including Mr. Ali, his wife Lonnie and family, former world heavyweight boxing champions George Foreman and Larry Holmes, Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer, and NBA all-time great Shaquille O’Neal. George Foreman, famed SI writer Bill Nack, and Lonnie Ali were among the featured speakers.

Lonnie Ali said, “I am very thankful to [Sports Illustrated] for having the wherewithal to realize that this was a legacy and to name this award after him… I’m really anxious to see and to applaud those who come after him that receive this award.”

Foreman said, “This is a great honor not only for Muhammad Ali but it’s a great honor for the sport of boxing…. Sports Illustrated is recognizing a guy that not only loved boxing but he loved Sports Illustrated. Eunice Kennedy Shriver, founder and driving force behind the Special Olympics, was the inaugural honoree, with her son Bobby accepting the award in her honor during the annual Sportsman of the Year ceremony. In 2014, Earvin (Magic) Johnson was honored for his two decades as an entrepreneur, philanthropist and social and political activist. He also accepted the honor at the annual Sportsman event, where he was commended by President Bill Clinton and NBA commissioner Adam Silver.
