CBS has announced that The Late Show Host and Tony Award-winning actor James Corden will serve as host for the 70th Annual Tony Awards.

James Corden is a multi-faceted performer, host, writer and producer with accomplishments that span television, theater, film and comedy. Since Corden took the helm of THE LATE LATE SHOW, the show has consistently been the most social talk show in its time period according to Nielson Social.

In a statement, Corden said, “I’m absolutely thrilled to be hosting the Tony Awards. Both times I’ve worked on Broadway have been amongst the happiest times of my professional life. I consider it to be a huge honor to be asked to host such an incredible night. It’s going to be fun; I can’t wait to dust off my tap shoes!”

“James is one of those rare performers whose gifts translate perfectly to both the Broadway stage and the television screen, making him the ideal choice to host the Tony Awards. The last time he was at the Tonys, he went home with one. We think he’ll have even more fun as host. This is going to be one unforgettable show,” said Charlotte St. Martin, President of The Broadway League, and Heather Hitchens, President of the American Theatre Wing in a statement.

“We are thrilled to have James Corden not only as a member of the CBS family, but as host of this year’s Tony Awards. Also, he appeared in the BBC television movie “Esio Trot,” alongside Dustin Hoffman and Judi Dench. Outside of his native England, Corden attracted international attention as the lead in the hit comedic play “One Man, Two Guvnors,” performing first in the National Theatre and the West End in London and then on Broadway, which earned him the 2012 Tony Award for Best Leading Actor in a Play. His additional theater credits include the worldwide tour of “The History Boys” in the role of Timms, which he also played in the feature film adaptation, according to Broadway World.

The 2016 Tony Awards: Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss of White Cherry Entertainment will return as executive producers of the Tony Awards. Weiss will also serve as director for the 17th consecutive year.

Adele says Donald Trump does not have permission to use her music

Superstar singer Adele has not given permission for her music to be used by Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

CNN reported that Adele asked the campaign to stop using her songs.

“Adele has not given permission for her music to be used for any political campaigning,” an Adele representative said in a statement. “We have no further comment.”

Trump has used Adele’s “Skyfall” and “Rolling in the Deep” before and during rallies.

Throughout his presidential campaign,  Trump has used a number of popular songs at rallies.

He previously used Aerosmith’s “Dream On.”

Lead singer Steven Tyler made it clear that he didn’t want his band’s song used, sending the Trump campaign a cease-and-desist letter.

The letter said in part that Trump does “not have our client’s permission to use ‘Dream On'” and that using the song “gives the false impression that he is connected with or endorses Mr. Trump’s presidential bid.”

Kim Kardashian and Amber Rose had a secret meeting Monday to bury the hatchet in the Wiz+Amber+Kanye saga…… TMZ has learned.

Both Amber and Kim posted this pic on their respective social media accounts early Tuesday morning, showing they have settled the score. As TMZ reported, the war started when Wiz called out Kanye over his new album and Kanye then went off denigrating Amber — calling her a stripper and even dragging her son into the beef.

TMZ’s Amber sources say Kim called her Monday afternoon and asked to meet at Kris Jenner’s house early that evening. Amber accepted the invite, and the 2 hashed things out. TMZ reported that after a long conversation they’re both good with each other.

“The Birth of a Nation,” Nate Parker’s directorial debut, which premiered at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival won several Awards Saturday night in Park City, Utah. According to ABC News, the film received a standing ovation during its screening. The film is centered on the true story of how slave Nat Turner led a rebellion in 1831.

Fox Searchlight announced Tuesday it won a record-making bidding war to acquire the film’s worldwide distribution rights. The studio expects to release the project by Parker, who also wrote, produced and starred in the film, later this year.

“The Birth of Nation” marks the fourth time a film has won the top categories — the Audience Award and the Grand Jury Prize — at Sundance. The film now joins the likes of others such as the 2013 film “Fruitvale Station,” the 2014 film “Whiplash” and the 2015 film “Me and Earl and the Dying Girl.”

Playboy magazine’s March 2016 issue, the magazine’s first non-nude version, will make its official consumer debut with an exclusive, star-studded party in San Francisco during pro-football’s biggest weekend of the year.

The Playboy Party, always one of the weekend’s most buzzed-about events, will celebrate the future of Playboy and its newly redesigned magazine on Friday, February 5, 2016 in a transformed space within Lot A of AT&T Park.  Celebrities, athletes, and VIP guests will enjoy a DJ set by ALESSO as they mingle with 24 Playboy Playmates in Bunny Costume.  Event sponsors include Dodge and EFFEN® Vodka, with water provided by AQUAhydrate and energy by Red Bull.

Guests will arrive at the party through a time portal tunnel that takes them on a visual journey of the history of Playboy and auto sponsor Dodge.  Once inside, they will be some of the first consumers to receive copies of Playboy‘s March issue (on newsstands Friday, February 12) via an Instagram activated vending machine encouraging them to “post for a peek” of the much-hyped and newly redesigned magazine.

Specialty cocktails and bottle service by EFFEN® Vodka will be available throughout the night, along with a host of surprise elements for guests, courtesy of the brand.  Attendees will also have the chance to sample a menu of unique libations expertly made with EFFEN® Vodka, EFFEN® Black Cherry Vodka and EFFEN® Cucumber Vodka as part of a Molecular Mixology Bar curated by San Francisco cocktail den Benjamin Cooper.  A selection of sweet and savory cuisine from some of the city’s most notable food trucks, including Mozzeria, El Sur, Curveball and Pacific Puffs, will be available to guests throughout the night.

Additionally, an interactive hologram experience, featuring the Dodge 2016 Charger SRT Hellcat and 2016 Challenger SRT Hellcat, will be on display at the high-profile bash.  The powerful Hellcat duo will be part of an installation where guests can walk up to a larger-than-life animated Hellcat as it snarls, prowls, lurks, and growls while standing guard near the actual Dodge Hellcat vehicles.  The Dodge 2015 Viper GTS will also be on display at the event’s red carpet entrance.
